I love the idea and look of a Blundstone boot, but my foot is freakishly narrow (we’re talking Sideshow Bob narrow), so I have a hard time finding shoes that fit properly and don’t look ridiculous on me. I’ve been on the hunt for something similar to a Blundstone: cognac leather, Chelsea style, ankle height, and comfortable, but it’s much easier said than done. I have plenty of Chelsea boots (I splurged on these Alexander Wang Chelsea boots and wear these Vince Chelsea sneakers all the time), but finding the classic brown cognac colour and something a little more feminine was what seemed to be the limiting factor.

I recently attended the grand re-opening of the Vancouver Ecco accessory store on South Granville; it took me all of three minutes after I walked in the door to spot these beauties among their walls of leather bags and shoes. They are the Chelsea boot that I’ve been searching for: a little rugged but not too boxy, fitted, slender, and wonderfully comfortable. My favourite part about these boots is that they have a much more feminine, sleek profile than a Blundstone, so no Sideshow Bob feet! They don’t come in narrow sizes, but I put an insole in them and they fit perfectly.
