If you feel like you've read "stripes are big for ____ (insert the year here)," it's because you have. Each spring, fashion magazines and trend forecasters predict that stripes will be big. Why? Because they are versatile and never truly go out of style.

Even though they are an official Spring 2017 trend, I wear stripes year-round. In fact, a co-worker recently said "how many striped shirts do you have?!" after seeing me walk in the door wearing yet another black and white striped shirt. I don't think I should answer that question.

Ways to Wear Stripes

  • Mixed with other stripes
  • Tucked into a skirt or pants
  • With a moto jacket (my personal favourite!)
  • Mixed with texture (silk, suede, leather, faux-leather, velvet etc.)
  • Under a blazer
  • With any denim (jeans, jacket, button-up etc.)

In reality, my closet has decreased to less than half the size it was before we moved to our new home. While setting up our new home, I took the opportunity to purge and donate an enormous amount of stuff that I didn't feel was "me" anymore. Needless to say, all my stripes stayed and will continue to get wear each spring, summer, fall, and winter.
